Walk for Wishbone.

Wellington 2019

A fun event where you will meet positive people who want to help fund vital research into improving orthopaedic surgery and treatment in New Zealand.

1km walk – on even ground around the outside of the velodrome two or three times, depending on how you feel!

5km walk – cruise with friends or power walk on a beautiful 2.5 km course on well-established tracks through iconic bush. With stunning views over the outer harbour and the western hills. You can go around once or twice.

Registration – 1-2pm Marist St Pats club rooms, Wellington velodrome, Hataitai Park

Walks start – 2pm, with the event finishing at the club rooms for talks, spot prizes and refreshments.

A small entry fee includes: event organisation, and the opportunity to meet some of our sports stars, find out more about orthopaedic research and learn how to best rehabilitate from injuries or surgery.

Events will take place rain or shine barring any extreme weather conditions which would put the safety of our participants at risk. In the event of inclement weather, modifications to the routes may be made to ensure everyone’s safety.

This Wellington event is supported by the New Zealand Rugby Foundation Inc. and the Marist St Pats rugby club.

Registration –1-2pm Marist St Pats club rooms – velodrome, Hataitai Park, start 2pm.

Parking – parking is limited and priority parking by Marist St Pats will be for the elderly or disabled.

On the day you will have the opportunity to meet some of our sports stars, and find out more about orthopaedic research and how to best rehabilitate from injuries or surgery.

Who can take part?

1km walk – open to all ages.
5km – anyone over the age of 5 years. All children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult.

How do I / we fundraise or donate?

For the 1km walk, the amount you choose to donate or get sponsorship for is up to you.

For the 5km walk, the individual fundraising goal is $150. All participants entering the event commit to do their best to reach this goal – we help you along the way too!

When you sign up for the 5km walk, we ask that you either create an online fundraising page or donate. Your fundraising page is your online fundraising hub where you can ask your friends and families to securely donate using credit cards or by direct credit. Check out our fundraising resources.
