FAQs

How do I fundraise?

You can choose to donate or get sponsorship. For the 5km walk, the individual fundraising goal is $150. All participants entering the event commit to do their best to reach this goal – we help you along the way too!

When you sign up for the 5km walk, we ask that you either create an online fundraising page or donate. Your fundraising page is your online fundraising hub where you can ask your friends and families to securely donate using credit cards or by direct credit. Check out our fundraising resources.

I’ve entered – can I bring my friends and family to support me?

Yes, your friends and family are more than welcome to cheer you on. Perhaps they can help you fundraise too!

What happens if there is bad weather? Will the events still go ahead?

Events will take place rain or shine barring any extreme weather conditions which would put the safety of our participants at risk. In the event of inclement weather, modifications to the routes may be made to ensure everyone’s safety. We will notify you directly by email, if we have your email address when you registered.  We will also place a notification on this website.

Do I have to pre-register or can I register on the day?

Yes, you need to register prior to the event.  This allows us to manage your health and safety, ensuring everyone has a fun and enjoyable time.

Will there be toilets available?

Yes.  We have chosen venues where toilets are available.

I have registered, but now can’t attend. Can I get a refund?

The registration fee is non-refundable. It contributes to the organisation of the event. Every $ raised will be used for orthopaedic research in New Zealand.
